Glacier Consulting was formed at the end of 2000 when four highly skilled technical specialists saw a need in the market for the provisioning of skilled and reliable resources in the Unix / Midrange sector.
Due to the success of our services recipe, Glacier decided to break into the IBM product market in July 2002, and attained IBM’s tier one status within a year.
Chronology:
- January 2001 – The company opened its doors with 5 employees and a virtual office.
- April 2002 – Became an IBM pSeries business partner at tier 2 level.
- November 2002 – Obtained IBM Tier 1 status as pSeries partner.
- August 2002 – Rented our first offices in Bentley Office Park, Rivonia
- June 2004 – BEE – Black female ownership is now at 25.2%
- November 2004 – Moved to our current offices in Bryanston.
- September 2005 – Made a 30% investment in startup CRM company Joined-Up Solutions.
- June 2006 – Made a 10% investment in Relational Database Consulting.
- November 2006 - started a dedicated storage division
- February 2007 - Obtained IBM Storage Tier 1 status
- December 2008 - Achieved an A rating in an empowerment assesment. Achieved a Level 4 Contributor status.
